Timeline

2022 - Max watches the documentary Just Eat It in class. It leaves a lasting impression on them as they realize the impacts of food waste.

March 5, 2024 - Max has the idea to start a non-profit organization. Remembering Just Eat It, and inspired by Food Stash (Max's Grade 6 teacher David Schein founded the organization!), Max and Allen come up with an idea for a non-profit - Feeding it Forwards.

April 8, 2024 - Feeding it Forwards' first food rescue: 52 pounds of bread and pastries from Merci Boulangerie, delivered to Covenant House by Allen and Max's families. 

April 20, 2024 - Feeding it Forwards invites our first new members to join the team, including Andy who becomes an integral part of the team.

May 19, 2024 - Feeding it Forwards is officially recognized as a non-profit organization under the BC Societies Act.

May 30, 2024 - Feeding it Forwards breaks 70,000$ total worth of food saved..

Meet The Team

Max Wang

Founder & CEO

Max is the Founder and CEO of Feeding it Forwards. Currently attending St. George's School in the eigth grade, Max has a passion for food sustainability and re-distribution. His passion for this initiative sparked after reading about Food Stash Foundation, a charity started by his Grade 6 teacher. In his free time, Max loves to row (oftentimes falling into Coal Harbor), debate, and read.

Andy Xu

COO

Andy is a founding member and the COO of FiF. Currently attending St. George's School in the eigth grade as a sustainability council member, he is a dynamic leader with a passion for saving the planet. In his free time, Andy enjoys playing the violin, volleyball, and indulging in Japanese cuisine. Joining FiF with a mission to feed children like himself, Andy is honored be a part of the team.

Allen Ding

CTO

Allen is a founding member and the Chief Technology Officer of Feeding It Forwards. Currently attending St George's in the eighth grade, he brings his expertise in technology to the team, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. Allen has a deep interest in linguistics and enjoys playing the piano in his free time. He is passionate about using his skills to make a positive impact. Joining FiF to help feed others, Allen is dedicated to the mission and honored to be part of the team.

Cleavon Wang

Head of Design

Cleavon is a dedicated member of Feeding It Forwards. Currently in the eigh grade at St. George's, he has a strong passion for science and enjoys playing tennis in his free time. Cleavon loves indulging in Chinese cuisine. Committed to the mission of reducing food waste, he is honored to be part of the FiF team.

Selena Xi

VP of Outreach

Selena is the Outreach Director at Feeding It Forwards. Currently in eighth grade at York House School, she is honored to be part of the team. Selena loves math and STEM, dedicating her skills and passion to help reduce food waste.

Queeny Li

Logistics VP

Queeny Li is the Director of Logistics at Feeding It Forwards. Currently in eighth grade at York House School, she is honored to be part of the team. Queeny has a passion for ballet and enjoys reading in her free time. She uses her exceptional organizational skills to ensure the smooth distribution of resources, helping to reduce food waste effectively.

Nini Lu

VP of Marketing

In 8th grade at Collingwood, Nini is a valuable member of our team. An avid and talented cellist, she always brings positive energy and is enthusiastic about helping others in need. Her skills in marketing as well as fundraising are unmatched. Outside of FiF, Nini enjoys practicing cello and being stuck in traffic on the Lions Gate Bridge.
