Another record-breaking month for Feeding it Forwards!

FOOD RESCUES

In August, Feeding it Forwards completed 27 food rescues, diverting:

  • 3145 pounds of surplus food

  • Approximately 2,622 meals

  • $14,309.01 in food value

Our August donor partners included COBS Bread, Merci Boulangerie, Terra Breads, Muslim Food Bank, My Tho Supermarket, and KPMG.

Instead of going to waste, this food was delivered to Yukon Shelter, Directions Youth Services, The Kettle Society, Sisele Housing through Atira Women’s Resource Society, and Union Gospel Mission.

NEW PARTNER: MY THO SUPERMARKET

In August, Feeding it Forwards welcomed My Tho Supermarket as a new food-donor partner! With just three rescues, we've already saved almost 1,000 pounds from the supermarket, and are rescuing hundreds of pounds of food each week from this supermarket.

We are incredibly grateful to the team at My Tho Supermarket for choosing to redirect their surplus food to people who can use it, and we look forward to continuing our work together! Instagram Post coming soon!

KPMG: A WEEK OF GIVING

Feeding it Forwards was lucky enough to be chosen by KPMG to be the official recipient of food donations during the company's Week of Giving.

Our volunteer (Elise) picked up 135.4 pounds of donated food from KPMG—equivalent to approximately 113 meals—and delivered it to Union Gospel Mission. The donation will help support UGM’s food programs for neighbours and families in the community.

A huge thank you to KPMG, Union Gospel Mission, and all the students who helped make the delivery possible!

Thank you to Elise for completing this rescue!
