July was definitely a big month for Feeding it Forwards

FOOD RESCUES

In July, Feeding it Forwards completed a record-breaking 27 food recues, diverting

• 2,122.6 pounds of surplus food

• Approximately 1,766 meals

• $11,091.93 in food value

Instead of letting that go to waste, we redistributed that to organizations supporting people in our communities.

Our July donor partners included COBS Bread, Merci Boulangerie, Terra Breads, Muslim Food Bank, Sunnyside Market, Blush Lane Organic Market, and Good Earth Cafe.

The rescued food was delivered to organizations including Yukon Shelter, Directions Youth Services, The Kettle Society, Sisele Housing through Atira Women’s Resource Society, Made By Momma, and Children’s Cottage Society.

Our Calgary Branch is Growing!

Our partnership with Leftovers Foundation has been going extremely well. In collaboration with that fantastic charity, we were able to continue picking up weekly from Blush Lane Organic Market and Good Earth Cafe.

But we want to go much further!

We are actively looking to onboard additional food donors, add more pickup routes with even more partners, and build relationships with new community organizations across Calgary. As the branch develops, we also hope to explore opportunities for a Calgary-based fundraiser that can bring together volunteers, businesses, and community members while supporting our food-rescue operations.
